RWE has released its 2021 results, posting an adjusted net income of €1,569m. As of December 2021, RWE had over 36 GW of installed capacity, including 14.3 GW of gas, 9.1 GW of lignite and coal, nearly 10.7 GW of renewables (including 6.6 GW of onshore wind and 2.3 GW of offshore wind) and 1.5 GW of nuclear capacity.
The company's power generation increased by 14% to 161 TWh, of which 33% from gas, 29% from lignite, 20% from renewables, 14% from nuclear and 4% from hard coal. Gas-fired generation increased by 10% in 2021, lignite-fired generation by 25%, coal-fired generation by 16%, nuclear generation by 10% and renewable generation by 9%. Renewable generation is dominated by onshore wind (49%), followed by offshore wind (23%) and biomass (19%).
