RVUNL aims to develop 34 GW solar capacity in Rajasthan (India)

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL), the state-owned power utility of the Indian State of Rajasthan, has invited bids from consultants to design land banks on government land, where 34.3 GW of solar capacity could be developed, helping the State to achieve its renewable energy targets.

The solar projects would be developed in the districts of Jaisalmer (12.5 GW at Fatehgarh, 6.2 GW at Keeta, Chhor, Jeerat, Sangana and Tehsil-Fatehgarh, 5 GW at Joga Tehsil-Ramgarh, and 2.7 GW at Raghwa and Seuwa Tehsil), Bikaner (3.1 GW at Sawaisar Karnisar Bhatiyan and Bikoloi, and 2.1 GW at Mehrasar, Dinsar, Barala, and Tehsil-Pugal), and Barmer (2.7 GW at Moti Ki Beri).

In June 2025, Rajasthan had nearly 32 GW of installed solar capacity. Under its Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, the State aims to reach 125 GW of renewable capacity by 2029-2030, including 90 GW of solar.
