Russian hydropower producer has released its 2019 results, posting a 1% decline in power generation to 143 TWh including the Boguchanskaya hydropower plant, a 3 GW hydropower plant jointly-owned by RusHydro and RUSAL, whose power generation rose by 18% to 16 TWh. Excluding Boguchanskaya, RusHydro's power generation dipped by 3% to 127 TWh, due to a lower hydropower generation (-6.7%) in Russia's price zones (Central Russia, South of Russia and North Caucasus, Siberia) that was partly offset by a higher hydropower and geothermal production in the Far East (+11%). Power generation in Armenia increased by 2.9% to 424 GWh.
RusHydro's power capacity rose by 297 MW, with the commissioning of the 320 MW Nizhne-Bureyskaya hydropower plant and the 120 MW Sakhalinskaya-2 thermal power plant in the Far East (where 84 MW were decommissioned at the Sakhalinskaya thermal power plant) and the partial decommissioning of the 127 MW Yakutskaya thermal power plant.
