Rezolv Energy has secured up to €331m in financing to support the construction of the 269 MW second phase of its Vifor wind park in Buzău County, in Romania. With this new round of project financing, the wind park will reach its full planned capacity of 461 MW. The financing for Phase 2 is largely supported by the same lenders involved in the first phase. These include Austria’s Erste Group, Italy’s UniCredit Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo Group, OTP Bank, and Austria’s Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien.
Phase 1 of the Vifor project, currently under construction, will install 192 MW of wind capacity and is expected to be operational by the spring of 2026. Phase 2 is scheduled for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2027, bringing the total project capacity to 461 MW.
Romania targets 38% of renewables in its final energy consumption in 2030 and aims to become carbon neutral between 2045 and 2050.
