The Spanish energy group Iberdrola generated 164.3 TWh in 2021 (+0.9%), including 61 TWh in Spain (+1.9%), 54.3 TWh in Mexico (-5.6%), 22.6 TWh in the United States (+2.1%), 15.1 TWh in Brazil (+15.8%) and 6.7 TWh in the United Kingdom (+0.6%). Renewables accounted for 45% of the company's power mix in 2021 (compared to 42% in 2020), followed by gas (35%, -2% points compared to 2020) and nuclear (14%, -1% point compared to 2020). The company commissioned 3.5 GW of renewable projects in 2021, raising its solar PV capacity by 1.2 GW to over 3 GW, its hydropower capacity by 985 MW to 13.8 GW and its onshore wind capacity by 905 MW to 19.4 GW. Iberdrola thus reached an installed renewable capacity of 38 GW and a total installed capacity of 58.3 GW at the end of the year. Most of the new capacity (56%) was added in Spain and in Portugal.
