Renalfa buys a 258 MW solar project in Romania and plans 1 GWh of BESS

The Austrian renewable energy company Renalfa has acquired a 258 MW solar project in Teleorman, Romania, which is expected to start operations in 2027 and will contribute to the country’s decarbonisation goals and energy security. The company has also announced plans to integrate 1 GWh of BESS assets in the future development of the solar project. The acquisition aligns with Renalfa strategic commitment to advance sustainable energy solutions across Central and Eastern Europe. 

Renalfa is a Vienna based developer and independent power producer established as a JV between Renalfa Solarpro Group and the French infrastructure fund manager RGREEN INVEST. It owns and develops solar, BESS and wind projects with a combined capacity of 2 GW distributed along Bulgaria, Hungary, North Macedonia and Romania, including around 300 MW already operational, 460 MW in construction and 1 GW in late-stage development.
