Rajasthan raises feed-in tariffs for new wind power plants

The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has raised the feed-in tariffs for wind power plants commissioned during fiscal years 2010-11 and 2011-12. For plants commissioned during the previous fiscal year, tariff has been revised to Rs 4.10/kWh from Rs 3.87/kWh for sale of power in Jailsalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur. For other districts, the tariff has been raised to Rs 4.31/kWh from Rs 4.08/kWh.

For wind power plants commissioned during the ongoing fiscal period (2011-2012), tariffs were raised to Rs 4.46/kWh from Rs 4.22/kWh in the three districts of Jailsalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur while the tariff was raised to Rs 4.69/kWh from its earlier level of Rs 4.44/kWh in the other districts of the state. This is a hike of 5.68% each, from the existing levelised tariff, in all the districts.

Wind power companies and developers will have three months (January to March 2012) to claim the difference between the tariff determined earlier and the revised tariff.
