QatarEnergy signs 17-Year LNG deal with GSPC for 1 Mt/year to India

QatarEnergy has signed a 17-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for the supply of up to 1 Mt/year of LNG to India (QatarEnergy press release, 29/10/2025).

The contracted LNG volumes will be delivered ex-ship to terminals in India, with shipments expected to start in 2026.

  • According to the company, this SPA builds on the first long-term LNG supply agreement between QatarEnergy and GSPC, which was signed in 2019.

In 2024, Qatar announced a new LNG expansion project on its North Field gas development, called “North Field West”, which will increase the country’s LNG production capacity to 142 Mt/year by 2030, representing an 85% increase over current production levels (GED, 2025).
