PSEG joins 10 bcm/year PennEast gas pipeline project (United States)

PSEG Power (part of the Public Service Enterprise Group) has decided to join the PennEast Pipeline project, aimed at developing a 100-mile (160 km) pipeline from Luzerne County in northeastern Pennsylvania to the Trenton-Woodbury interconnection in New Jersey (United States). The gas pipeline project will have a capacity of 1 bcf/d (10.3 bcm/year) and is expected to be commissioned in 2017 to serve approximately 4.7 million homes. PennEast, a company set up by AGL Resources, NJR Pipeline Company (New Jersey Resources), South Jersey Industries and UGI Energy Services (UGIES, subsidiary of UGI Corporation) is investing nearly $1 billion to build the new pipeline; PSEG Power will have a 12% interest in PennEast.
