Poland's gas TSO Gaz-System secures financing for FSRU connection project

The Polish gas transmission system operator (TSO) Gaz-System has signed a PLN 2.2bn (€515m) loan agreement with the state bank Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) to finance the construction of the onshore part of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in the Gulf of Gdansk in northern Poland. The loan, financed from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP), will support the construction of the Gdańsk – Gustorzyn gas pipeline, including FSRU connection section to the Kolnik-Gdańsk gas pipeline (34 km), the 88 km-long Gardeja – Kolnik section, and the 128 km-long Gustorzyn – Gardeja section. The gas pipeline will have a gas transmission capacity of 1.32 mcm/h (11.6 bcm/year).

The construction of the FSRU vessel has already started, along with the transmission infrastructure in both the offshore and onshore parts of the project. The launch of the FSRU Terminal is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028.
