The Polish gas transmission system operator (TSO) Gaz-System has completed the technical acceptance of the Ciecierzyce – Lwówek gas pipeline in Poland, one of the onshore sections of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline project to Denmark. The next step will be commissioning. Ciecierzyce - Lwówek (69 km) is one of the two sections of the Goleniów - Lwówek gas pipeline, which has a total length of 191 km. The technical acceptance of the second section of the Goleniów - Ciecierzyce route (122 km) is planned for mid-June 2022. The gas pipeline project is scheduled to be fully commissioned in October 2022.
The 10 bcm/year Baltic Pipe gas pipeline is developed by Gaz-System and its Danish counterpart Energinet, which took a final investment decision (FID) in December 2018. The pipeline will be made of five parts: one offshore pipeline in the North Sea between the Norwegian and the Danish gas transmission systems across 105-110 km, then a 210-230 km gas transmission section and a compressor station onshore Denmark, a 275-km offshore pipeline between Denmark and Poland across the Baltic Sea and a 230-340 km onshore gas transmission pipeline in Poland.
