Poland approves the €238m Wola–Tworzeń gas pipeline project

The Polish natural gas transmission system operator Gaz-System has obtained all the documents required to start the construction works of the 168-km long high-pressure Pogórska Wola - Tworzeń natural gas pipeline project. The PLN1bn (€238m) gas pipeline is scheduled to cross the territories of three Polish voivodeships, namely Małopolskie, Świętokrzyskie and Śląskie.

Once commissioned, it will increase the Polish gas transmission capacity and will be an important element of the Central European North-South Gas Corridor, connecting the LNG terminal in Świnoujście (Poland) with the planned LNG terminal in Croatia. The project is also co-financed by the EU as per the Infrastructure and Environment” 2014–2020 programme.

Gaz-System is currently investing in the development of more than 2,200 km of new domestic gas pipelines by 2025 (1,650 km by 2020) comprising eight gas pipelines, of which in particular the Pogórska Wola - Tworzeń line.
