POGC will start a gas processing plant at South Pars 14 (Iran) in 2021

Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) plans to complete the installation of the gas processing plant at the 14th phase of the South Pars gas project in southern Iran by the end of June 2021. The project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the so-called refinery is currently around 83% complete. Four platform adding 14 mcm/d of gas each to the field's production were commissioned between the summer 2018 and February 2020, raising the production from the offshore section of the phase 14 to 56 mcm/d (20 bcm/year).

The South Pars gas field is the largest in the world and is shared between Iran and Qatar, where it is known as North Dome. The Iranian asset is divided into 24 phases: phases 1-10 are intended for domestic consumption and injection into Iranian oil fields, while gas from the other phases should be exported. All the phases were operational in March 2020. The South Pars gas field is a key contribution to Iran's gas production, which is predicted to reach 880 mcm/d by 2020 and 950 mcm/d by 2021, respectively.
