The Indian company PFC Consulting, a wholly owned subsidiary of PFC Ltd, has invited bids for developers for the construction of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to evacuate up to 14 GW from renewable projects in Gurajat, India (PFC press release, 12/03/2026). The selected bid would develop the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, and the project is expected to reach completion within 36 months of the contract award. The tender will close on 15 May 2026.
The ISTS aims to evacuate the power generated by the Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW), and Jamnagar (Phase-I, Part C: 1 GW) projects.
According to India’s National Electricity Plan 2022 (NEP 2022), the country expects to develop 190,000 km of transmission lines and 1,270 GVA of transformation capacity across the country to support the 600 GW of renewable capacity planned by 2032.
