The Chinese oil and company PetroChina, which is the listed affiliate of CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation, 100% state-owned), has released its 2025 results, posting a revenue of CNY2,864.5bn (USD414bn, -2.5%) and a profit attributable to owners of CNY157bn (USD22.8bn, -4.5%) in a context of declining oil prices (PetroChina, 29/03/2026). The company’s crude oil output, at 948 mbl in 2025, remained stable (+0.7%), while its gas production grew by 4.5% to 5,363 bcf (152 bcm), driven up by a strong increase in China (+4.9%). In total, the group’s hydrocarbon production grew by 2.5% to 1,841.9 mboe.
PetroChina also processed 1,375.9 mbl of crude oil (stable) and produced 116.8 Mt of gasoline, kerosene and diesel (-2.6%). The company sold 160.8 Mt of oil products (gasoline, kerosene and diesel) in 2025 (+1.1%), including 118.7 Mt in China. Its number of gas stations dipped by 1.4% to 22,127 at end-2025.
