The Brazilian oil and gas group Petrobras has reported a historical level of oil volumes processed from the Pre-Salt, reaching 70% of the total processed by the company, up from the 2023 record of 66%. The group's annual Refinery Utilization Factor (FUT) reached 93.2% in 2024 (up from 93% in 2023) and its Paraná and Canoas refineries broke production records.
The Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (Repar), in Araucária (Paraná region), recorded a new gasoline production record during 2024, reaching 3.5 bn l of gasoline, along with 76,000 m³ of R5 diesel (with a 5% renewable blending, +81% compared to 2023). The Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (Refap) in Canoas (Rio Grande do Sul) broke production records of S-10 diesel with 2.5 bn l (compared to a previous record of 2.4 bn l in 2022).
According to Petrobras' current Business Plan, the company plans to invest US$19.6bn in the Refining, Transportation, Marketing, Petrochemicals and Fertilizers (RTC) segment by 2029.
