Petrobras' crude oil production remains stable in 2018 (Brazil)

Brazilian state-run oil and gas company Petrobras has reported that its total oil and gas output, including natural gas liquids (NGL), stood at 2.6 mboe/d in 2018, including 2.5 mboe/d produced in Brazil and 101,000 boe/d abroad. The annual average of the company's total operated production (both Petrobras and partner’s share) amounted to 3.3 mboe/d, of which 3.2 mboe/d in Brazil.

More specifically, the company's own crude oil production in Brazil reached 2 mb/d. The pre-salt production continued to developed and achieved new records in 2018, reaching 1.75 mboe/d in average and even 1.85 mboe/d in December 2018. Four new production systems came onstream in the Santos and Campos basin, helping to boost production figures.

In 2017, the company's crude oil production stood at 2.2 mb/d (up by 0.4% compared with 2016) while its gas output reached 79.6 mcm/d. Overall, Petrobras' oil and gas production grew by 0.9% to 2.7 mboe/d in 2017. This figure is higher than in 2018 mainly because Petrobras divested several assets during the year, including in particular the Lapa, Sururu, Berbigão, Oeste de Atapu and Roncador fields.
