Petrobras (Brazil) unveils part of its 2020-2024 strategy

Brazil's national oil and gas company Petrobras has released a first part of its new 2020-2024 plan. In the Exploration and Production segment, the group will focus on deep and ultra-deep waters to develop world-class oil and gas assets and to maximise portfolio value. Petrobras will seek to act competitively in the trading of its own gas, to focus on self-consumption and gas trading to optimise its thermal power portfolio, and to completely exit from gas distribution and transmission (the group is selling these assets). In the refining, transportation and trading segment, the group aims at improving the competitiveness of its operations, focusing on Southeastern Brazil; Petrobras plans to completely withdraw from the fertilisers, LPG and biodiesel businesses. The group aims to make biodiesel and BioQav commercially viable and to grow in the wind and solar power generation segments.
