Petrobras begins production from second FPSO in Búzios field (Brazil)

Brazilian state-held oil and gas company Petrobras has started oil and natural gas production from a second floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) installed in the Búzios 2 area, in the pre-salt of Santos Basin offshore Brazil (approximately 210 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro).

The unit has been named P-75 and will have the capacity to process up to 150,000 bbl/d of oil and compress up to 6 mcm/d of natural gas through ten production wells. It is the fourth FPSO to enter production in Brazil in 2018 after the FPSO Cidade Campos dos Goytacazes in the Tartaruga Verde field, the P-69 in the Lula field and the P-74 in the Búzios field. The deployment of these units is slated to increase Petrobras' production, in line with its 2018-2022 Business and Management Plan.

The Búzios field was discovered in 2010 and entered production in April 2018 with the commissioning of the P-74 platform. It is the first field in production under the Transfer of Rights regime.
