Palisade acquires 240 MW / 960 MWh under-construction BESS project in Australia

Australian asset manager Palisade Investment Partners will take full ownership of the 240 MW/960 MWh Summerfield BESS project currently under construction in Mannum, near Adelaide (South Australia), from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

According to CIP, construction of the project, that utilizes Solbank lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) technology, is materially complete with commercial operations scheduled for later in 2026. An offtake agreement is already in place with the power generation and retail company Origin Energy having signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to buy 100% of the output.

Once operational, Summerfield will support South Australia’s grid stability and energy storage needs and support the government’s target of 100% net renewable energy by 2027.
