The US energy infrastructure company Pacifico Energy has received the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) air permit for its 7.65 GW "GW Ranch" gas-fired power generation project in Texas, United States (Pacifico Energy press release, 26/01/2026). The permit allows for the construction and operation of the project following state and federal air-quality requirements.
The GW Ranch project is a planned private-grid power generation facility to be developed at Pecos County (Texas) aimed to supply energy for hyperscale data centres and AI innovation. The first phase of the project will consist of 1 GW, and it is scheduled to start operations in the first half of 2027. The project is also expected to include a 1.8 GW battery storage operating independently from the ERCOT grid and 750 MW of solar capacity.
Pacifico Energy is a US-based company developing microgrid and distributed generation energy projects. The Pacifico Energy Group operates globally, with active projects in the US, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.
