Finish project developer, Tuulialfa, has transferred the rights to the 336 MW Turkselkä wind power plant to Swedish utility OX2 as it progresses towards the implementation phase of the project. Located on the border of the municipalities of Vaala, Paltamo and Puolanka in Northern Ostrobothnia (Finland), the onshore wind power project should be connected to the electricity grid with a new 110kv transmission line to be built at Fingrid's Nuojuankangas substation. It includes a total of 42 wind turbines and is expected to produce approximately 700 GWh/year of electricity once completed. OX2 has announced that it is preparing towards the investment decision on implementation and plans to put out to tender the contracts related to the construction of the project.
Finland expects to grow its wind power capacity from 2.5 GW in 2020 to over 14 GW in 2030.
