The Danish power company Ørsted has completed the divestment of a 50% stake in its 1.3 GW Hornsea 2 offshore wind park (UK) to a consortium comprising AXA IM Alts and Crédit Agricole Assurances. AXA IM Alts and Crédit Agricole Assurances now each own 25% of the project. The total value of the transaction, which has been planned since March 2022, stood at £3bn (€3.6bn).
In late August 2022, the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm, located 89 km off the Yorkshire coast (northeastern England, United Kingdom), reached full commercial operations and became the world’s largest offshore wind park fully in service. The project comprises 165 wind turbines and is expected to power over 1.4m British homes with renewable energy.
