Danish energy group Ørsted has reported its annual results for 2025, posting a 3% growth in revenue to DKK73.2bn (EUR9.8bn), "driven by the sale of the Hornsea 3 offshore transmission assets in relation to the 50% farm-down of the wind farm" (Ørsted annual report, 06/02/2025). Net profit reached DKK3.2bn (EUR424m) (Ørsted press release, 06/02/2025).
The CEO noted that offshore wind generation increased by 6% in 2025 despite below‑normal wind speeds, driven by higher availability rates and the ramp‑up of Gode Wind 3 in Germany.
Ørsted also detailed progress across its 8.1 GW offshore construction portfolio and reported that Revolution Wind (700 MW) and Sunrise Wind (924 MW) had received suspension orders from the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in December 2025. Both project companies secured preliminary injunctions in January and February that allowed impacted activities to restart while litigation proceeds, according to Ørsted.
- Revolution Wind is 87% complete, with commissioning works expected to be finalised in the second half of 2026, while Sunrise Wind is 45% complete, with commissioning planned for the second half of 2027.
The company is planning to increase its installed offshore wind capacity to more than 18 GW by the end of 2027. Ørsted also has the strategic priority to increase its focus on offshore wind opportunities in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Regarding its guidance for 2026, EBITDA excluding new partnership agreements and cancellation fees is expected to be above DKK28bn (EUR3.7bn), and gross investments are expected to be DKK50–55bn (EUR6.7-7.4bn).
