Orrön secures grid connections for six projects in the UK (3 GW) 

Orrön Energy has secured grid connections for six large-scale projects with an estimated combined capacity of 2.9 GW in the United Kingdom and the municipal approval of three projects in Germany totalling 250 MW (Orrön press release, 07/01/2026). 

  • The UK projects comprise three solar projects with a combined capacity of 1.8 GW and three data centre projects (1.1 GW). The company expects to receive binding grid offers and additional details around grid connection dates during the third quarter of 2026.
  • The German projects comprise three solar projects with a combined capacity of 250 MW that have secured their approvals from the local authorities. Orrön also has a significant pipeline of large-scale battery (BESS) projects that have already secured their land permits and are expecting their grid confirmation later in 2026.
