OPEC+ will pause oil production increments in the first quarter of 2026

The eight OPEC+ countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman, have reaffirmed their decision on 2 November 2025 to pause production increases in January, February, and March 2026 due to seasonality (OPEC+ press release, 30/11/2025).

Between January and March 2026, the required oil production for OPEC countries is as follows: Saudi Arabia (10.1 mb/d), Russia (9.6 mb/d), Iraq (4.3 mb/d), UAE (3.4 mb/d), Kuwait (2.6 mb/d), Kazakhstan (1.6 mb/d), Algeria (971 kb/d), and Oman (811 kb/d). Production will remain steady throughout this period.

In November 2025, OPEC+ also announced a planned production increase of 137 kb/d, building on the 1.65 mb/d of additional voluntary adjustments announced in April 2023. This increase is scheduled for implementation in December 2025.
