Seven OPEC+ countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman, have decided to maintain their required crude oil production levels for October 2026, following a virtual meeting held on 6 September 2026 (OPEC press release, 06/09/2026).
The target production levels are set as follows: Saudi Arabia (10.5 mb/d), Russia (9.9 mb/d), Iraq (4.4 mb/d), Kuwait (2.7 mb/d), Kazakhstan (1.6 mb/d), Algeria (1 mb/d) and Oman (0.8 mb/d).
Previously, in August 2026, the group completed a phased rollback of a 1.65 mb/d voluntary production cut that had been in place since 2023, increasing their output by 188 kb/d.
However, export disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and constrains affecting Russian oil flows continue to keep OPEC+ production below its official target levels, despite recent quota increases.
