Romania's National Agency for Mineral Resources (ANMR) has approved the development plan for the Domino and Pelican South gas fields in the Neptun Deep block submitted by OMV Petrom and Romgaz. The development of the Domino and Pelican South offshore gas fields, located in the Black Sea and estimated to hold 100 bcm of gas reserves, includes 10 wells, 3 subsea production systems and associated flow lines, an offshore platform, the main natural gas pipeline to Tuzla and a natural gas metering station.
Following the ANMR's approval, OMV Petrom has signed an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services (EPCIC) contract worth €1.6bn with Saipem. Overall, OMV Petrom and Romgaz plan to invest up to €4bn in the project, with first gas production expected in 2027.
