Oman and Botswana agree on 3 GW renewable energy deal

Oman and Botswana have reached an agreement to develop solar, wind, and battery storage projects with a combined production capacity of up to 3 GW in Botswana. The renewable energy agreement was signed by O-Green, Oman’s state-backed clean energy platform, and Botswana’s Ministry of Minerals and Energy.

In addition, Oman’s state-owned OQ and Botswana Oil will explore investment opportunities in energy infrastructure and storage solutions within the country. Another agreement signed between OQ Trading and Botswana Oil will explore supply opportunities for energy products in Botswana and assess a framework for supply, assembly and long-term marketing within regional markets.
