NHOA Energy has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Neoen for its 215 MW/963 MWh Culcairn BESS project in New South Wales (NSW), Australia (NHOA Energy press release, 30/06/2026).
The project integrates an AC‑coupled BESS integrated “behind the meter” at Neoen’s existing 440 MW Culcairn solar plant, forming a hybrid installation designed to enhance renewable integration and grid stability in the National Electricity Market. Commissioning is targeted around 2028, with delivery supported by a joint venture between Equans Solar & Storage and Bouygues Construction Australia.
The project follows the commissioning of Neoen’s 239 MW/477 MWh Blyth BESS in South Australia in early 2025, reinforcing NHOA Energy’s position in Australia’s large-scale storage market.
