NFE's 2.8 Mt/year LNG export project in Louisiana (US) moves forward

New Fortress Energy (NFE) has completed its deepwater port license application with the US Coast Guard and the US Maritime Administration, and will proceed with the preparation of an environmental impact statement (EIS) as part of the environmental review within the 356-day application process. NFE’s application proposes the ownership, construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of a 145 bcf/year (4 bcm/year, over 2.8 Mt/year) offshore LNG export deepwater port, known as New Fortress Energy Louisiana FLNG, that would be located in Federal waters approximately 16 miles (26 km) off the southeast coast of Grand Isle, Louisiana (United States). Subject to the receipt of all required permits and approvals, NFE targets beginning operations in early 2023.
