MunmuBaram, a joint venture of Shell (80%) and CoensHexicon (20%), has secured an additional Electricity Business License (EBL) from the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy to progress its floating offshore wind project off the coast of Ulsan city, in South Korea. The first EBL for 420 MW was secured in November 2021. The company has now obtained all the required EBLs to fully develop its 1.3 GW floating offshore wind project in South Korea. The project, which will be developed in phase, is expected to produce up to 4.2 TWh/year. MunmuBaram will continue to progress the project through Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), marine traffic survey, cultural heritage inspection survey and other activities.
