Morocco plans a 1.2 GW CCGT and a LNG terminal at Nador West Med port

Morocco plans to build a 1.2 GW gas-fired CCGT and an LNG import terminal at the Nador West Med port. The project includes regasification facilities, storage infrastructure, and pipeline connections to the national gas network. The CCGT will integrate with the LNG terminal to supply gas to the power plant, industrial users, and other gas-fired assets.

Morocco’s gas strategy involves developing two 1.2 GW CCGT power plants, totalling 2.4 GW of new capacity. The Nador CCGT will support grid stability and complement renewable energy sources.
