MHPS gets order for TAQA's 2.4 GW CCGT project in Fujairah (UAE)

MHPS (Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems) has received an order for three gas turbines generators to be used in a 2.4 GW CCGT power project in Fujairah (United Arab Emirates). In February 2020, the Abu Dhabi Power Corporation (ADPower) formed a joint venture with Marubeni Corporation (60% ADPower and 40% Marubeni) to develop a 2.4 GW CCGT power plant.

The project is expected to start generating power and supplying electricity to the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) by the summer of 2022. The project is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2023.

In July 2020, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) took over ADPower, including the  2.4 GW Fujairah F3 IPP project. The combined companies have a power generation capacity of 23 GW, and oil and gas exploration and production activities in Iraq, Europe and North America.
