Meridian LNG signs tolling agreement at Magnolia LNG project (US)

Magnolia LNG, part of the LNG Ltd group, has signed a legally-binding tolling agreement with Meridian LNG for firm capacity rights for up to 2 Mt/year at the Magnolia LNG project, currently under development on the Calcasieu shipping channel in the Lake Charles District (Louisiana, United States). The 20-year tolling agreement has an option for a further 5 years. It includes a firm annual capacity of 1.7 Mt/year, with an additional 0.3 Mt/year at Magnolia's LNG discretion. Magnolia will provide liquefaction services to Meridian LNG, which will be in charge of gas procurement and delivery to the liquefaction plant and for LNG delivery to end consumers. Meridian LNG will liquefy gas at the Magnolia LNG terminal and ship it to its Port Meridian LNG terminal in the United Kingdom, where it will be sold to E.ON Global Commodities (EGC) under the 20-year gas sales agreement (GSA) announced in April 2015. The Magnolia LNG project will have a liquefaction capacity of 8 Mt/year (four 2 Mt/year trains) and will be commissioned in phases between 2018 and 2019.
