Megatuuli and Valorem will develop 1.5 GW of wind projects in Finland

Megatuuli, a Finnish wind power developer affiliated with Enersense International, has signed a mutual co-operation agreement with the French renewable company Valorem targeting to develop 1.5 GW of wind projects in Finland by 2025, which would bring new investments totalling €1.5bn in the country. The term of the agreement spans three years and covers the companies’ current mutual wind power projects in addition to new wind power projects. Megatuuli and Valorem have previously collaborated in multiple wind power projects including Saunamaa in Kurikka/Teuva, Suolakangas in Kauhajoki, and Kalistanneva and Matkussaari in Kurikka. These projects, investments amounting to almost €0.5bn, are currently in operation or under construction.

Wind accounts for 14% of Finland's installed capacity, with 2.5 GW (end of 2020). According to preliminary statistics, wind capacity increased to 3.1 GW in 2021.
