The US engineering and construction company McDermott has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from ADNOC for Package 4 of the Umm Shaif Integrated Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting Project offshore the United Arab Emirates (McDermott press release, 24/08/2026).
The project forms part of the Umm Shaif Long Term Development Plan, which aims to maximise gas recovery and increase production from the field. Under the USD1bn contract, McDermott and its Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan (QMW) consortium are to deliver the full EPCI scope for a new surface pressure boosting facility, including the construction and installation of a jacket, a topside and associated brownfield modifications.
The award follows the FID announced earlier for the wider USD6.2bn development. The Umm Shaif and Nasr offshore concession development is expected to unlock more than 600 mcf/d (17 mcm/d) of natural gas and associated gas liquids. The concession is operated by ADNOC Offshore (60%) with partners TotalEnergies (20%), CNPC (10%) and Eni (10%).
