Macquarie Asset Management finances a 1.2 GW CCGT power plant (US)

Macquarie Asset Management, an asset manager headquartered in Australia, has provided a US$450m bilateral facility to Sandow Lakes Energy Station for the construction of a 1.2 GW CCGT power plant in Lee County, Texas (United States). The financing supports procurement of long-lead equipment, including two Siemens SGT6-9000HL gas turbines, to meet rising electricity demand from energy-intensive digital infrastructure. The project aims to address grid capacity constraints and balance intermittent generation, as power and transmission systems face surging CCGT equipment orders with delivery timelines extending into the 2030s.
