Longroad Energy commissions 111 MWdc solar + 340 MWh storage project (US)

US-based energy developer Longroad Energy, acting as owner and operator, has announced that Sun Pond, a project combining 111 MWdc of solar capacity with 85 MWac/340 MWh of energy storage, has officially reached commercial operation in the United States (Longroad Energy press release, 06/05/2026). According to the company, Ava Community Energy and San José Clean Energy (SJCE) have secured the project’s output through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The project is expected to prevent more than 145 ktCO2/year in emissions

Sun Pond forms part of Longroad’s Sun Streams Complex, which consists of four projects representing close to 1.6 GW of combined solar and storage capacity, all situated in Maricopa County, Arizona.
