Lhyfe plans a 200 MW green hydrogen plant in the Netherlands

The French hydrogen company Lhyfe plans to build 200 MW green hydrogen plant in the Delfzijl chemical cluster, Groningen province, northern Netherlands. The project will use offshore wind power for electrolysis and will have a production capacity of more than 20 kt/year of green hydrogen (55 t/day). Commissioning is scheduled for 2026. The country targets 500 MW of electrolyser capacity by 2025 and 3-4 GW by 2030.

In late September 2022, Lhyfe commissioned its first offshore green hydrogen pilot plant in Saint-Nazaire, France. In April 2022, Lhyfe also entered a memorandum of understanding to build a 600 MW green hydrogen facility near the 1,020 MW Storgrundet offshore wind project off the coast of Soderhamn in Sweden.
