JGC and Fluor win FEED for 20 Mt/year LNG plant in Mozambique

The 50-50 joint venture of JGC and Fluor has been awarded a Front-End Engineering and Design ("FEED") contract by from Anadarko Moçambique Área 1 for an onshore liquefaction facility in Mozambique. The project will be located in the Cabo Delgado Province, near Rovuma.



The FEED will deliver designs for the initial phase of the Mozambique LNG project of 4 trains, each train capable of producing 5 Mt/year of LNG. The first LNG cargo is targeted for 2018. The plant could later be expanded (potential of up to 50 Mt/year). The feedstock will come from offshore production facilities at Offshore Area 1, operated by Anadarko, and Offshore Area 4, operated by Eni.



Anadarko Moçambique Área 1 consists of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (36.5%), Mitsui (20%), Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (15%), BPRL (10%), Videocon (10%) and PTT E&P (8.5%). Eni is the operator of Area 4 with a 70% participating interest. The other partners of the joint venture are GalpEnergia (10%), KOGAS (10%) and ENH (10%).
