According to the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Mining, Israel’s natural gas exports to Egypt and Jordan increased by 13.4% in 2024, reaching 13.11 bcm (compared to 11.56 bcm in 2023). According to the ministry, Israel produced 27.38 bcm from its Leviathan, Karish and Tamar fields in 2024, an 8.3% increase compared to 2023 (25.28 bcm). 52% of the 2024 gas production from these fields (14.27 bcm) were destined for domestic use, while the remaining 13.11 bcm were exported.
In 2024, Israel produced 11.33 bcm from the Leviathan field (+1%), 10.09 bcm from the Tamar field (+10%) and 5.96 bcm from the Karish field (+21%). The country also produced 5.35 mbl of oil at the Karish field (+53%) and 455 kbl at the Tamar reservoir (+8%).
In February 2025, the Israeli company NewMed Energy submitted a US$2.4bn plan to the Israeli Government for the expansion and boosting of production at the Leviathan gas field to 23 bcm/year (from around 12 bcm/year currently). Overall, Israel has total proved gas reserves of about 709 bcm (2023).
