Pertamina NRE, an affiliate of the Indonesian national oil and gas company Pertamina, has signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) with Pertamina Rosneft Processing and Petrochemical (PRPP) regarding the electricity, steam, and water supply at the Tuban Grass Root Refinery (GRR) project in East Java (Indonesia). Pertamina will install an LNG-based cogeneration power plant with a capacity of 570 MW and provide steam with a capacity of 84 to 1,156 t/h, depending on pressure. LNG will be supplied from Pertamina Gas Negara (PGN). The power plant is targeted to operate in 2026.
GRR Tuban is designed with the capacity to process 300 kb/d of crude oil and will produce 230 kb/d in total and 4.1 Mt/year of petrochemical and aromatic products. The refinery is scheduled to be commissioned in 2027. The project is developed by Pertamina Rosneft Processing and Petrochemical (PRPP), a joint venture between Pertamina (55%) and Rosneft (45%).
