Indiana Michigan Power will acquire an 870 MW gas-fired power plant (US)

The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) has approved the agreement between Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), and consumer groups to acquire the Oregon Clean Energy Center, an existing 870 MW gas-fired power plant located in Oregon, Ohio (United States) (I&M press release, 19/11/2025).

With this IURC approval and the prior approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in October 2025, I&M has now secured all necessary regulatory approvals to complete the acquisition of the Oregon facility.

According to I&M, the company expects to take ownership of the Oregon Clean Energy Center in March 2026.
