Ignitis agrees to buy a 300 MW Lithuanian wind project

Ignitis Renewables has signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement with E energija for the acquisition of 100% of the shares in its two companies developing a 300 MW onshore wind project in Kelmė district (Lithuania). The transaction is expected to close by end-2023. The project will be developed in two phases and Ignitis Renewables will oversee the construction of the project farm after the transaction is closed. The first phase of the wind project has already reached the construction stage and commissioning is scheduled for 2025. Expected investments, including the acquisition price and construction costs, should reach around €550m.

Wind accounts for 15% of Lithuania’s capacity mix, with 620 MW. More than 320 MW are currently under construction and about 1.5 GW under development.
