Ignitis acquires a 218 MW onshore wind project in Lithuania

The Lithuanian state-owned energy group Ignitis (former Lietuvos Energija), through its affiliate Ignitis Renewables, has signed an agreement to acquire a company developing a 218 MW onshore wind project in Lithuania. The €300m project will be situated in Plungė region, north-west of Lithuania. The project, which is at an early development stage, has already entered environmental impact assessment. It is planned that commercial operations could start between 2026 and 2030.

With this acquisition, Ignitis's portfolio of renewables reaches 4.8 GW, of which 1.2 GW in operations and 3.5 GW under construction or development. Out of total pipeline under construction and development, around 2.2 GW is located in Lithuania.
