Hiraeth and Magnora plan 2 floating wind projects in the Celtic Sea (UK)

Hiraeth Energy has partnered with Magnora Offshore Wind (a joint venture of Magnora and TechnipFMC) to co-develop two floating wind projects in the Celtic Sea (United Kingdom), Môr Glas and Môr Gwyrdd, with up to 700 MW total installed capacity.

The UK Crown Estate aims to develop 4 GW of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea. Earlier in January 2022, Falck Renewables and BlueFloat secured grid connections for two 300 MW floating wind projects in the Celtic Sea expected to be commissioned in 2027-2028, while EDF Renewables concluded a joint venture (JV) partnership with DP Energy to build the 1 GW Gwynt Glas floating offshore wind project in the Celtic Sea.
