Google contracts 3.6 GW of power from Constellation Energy's nuclear fleet (US)

Google has announced a long-term strategic agreement with the US power utility Constellation Energy to secure nearly 3.6 GW of power from Constellation Energy's nuclear fleet in the PJM Interconnection grid in the United States (Constellation Energy press release, 06/10/2026).

The companies have signed a 15-year energy supply agreement for 2,700 MW of PJM-connected nuclear capacity. In addition, they have concluded a 20-year agreement for 890 MW of power from various Constellation Energy's nuclear power plants in the PJM market, which would be upgraded "to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability".

According to Constellation Energy, this 20-year agreement "will enable investments in new equipment and technology at 11 Constellation-owned nuclear units in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, increasing thermal and electrical efficiency to unlock additional reliable, firm power to serve the grid. This capacity is entirely new, expanding total electricity generation available across the PJM footprint". The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.
