Germany's Enercon will supply turbines for a 1 GW wind project in Turkey

Enercon (Germany) has agreed with Enerjisa Uretim to supply wind turbines generators for the 1 GW YEKA RES 2 wind project in Turkey. Enerjisa Uretim is a joint venture between Germany’s E.ON and Turkey’s Sabanci Holding.

The project includes 500 MW of capacity secured by Enercon and 500 MW by Enerjisa Uretim, which has the role of investor and operator. Under the arrangement, the two companies will jointly install 240 units of the E-138, EP3 and E2 turbine generators. The turbines will be delivered within the next four years to 2026.

The YEKA RES 2 complex will consist of four 250 MW wind farms, to be built in Çanakkale, Balikesir, Aydin and Mugla (western Turkey). The project was awarded in 2019 and will be executed as part of Turkey’s YEKA tender programme.

In its latest YEKA tender in June 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has awarded 850 MW of wind power capacity, spread between 9 Turkish companies and 20 projects.
