Argan's subsidiary, Gemma, will proceed with the EPC contract with Sandow Lakes Energy Company (SLEC) for the development of a 1.2 GW gas-fired CCGT power plant in Lee County, Texas (United States). The project’s construction is expected to start in mid-2025 close to the Matterhorn natural gas pipeline, with an expected completion date in 2028. The 1.2 GW power project will consist of two Siemens Energy SGT6-9000HL gas turbines and will operate within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
Gemma Power Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Argan, is an EPC services company providing innovative solutions for the power industry, including the renewable energy sector.
